Carrie Abraham
Certified Spiritual Director
Welcome, welcome, welcome!
I am so glad that you are here because it means you are curious about this endeavor called spiritual direction!
So what is it? Simply put, spiritual direction is a practice where a person seeks guidance, support, and companionship from a soul-friend in their spiritual journey. Together, we explore your spiritual experiences and discern the presence and action of God in your life.
As your Spiritual Director, I will:

Listen Deeply
I will listen attentively to your experiences, thoughts, and feelings, creating a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your faith and practice.
Facilitate Discernment
I will prayerfully help you discern the presence and movement of God in your life.
Encourage Reflection
I will encourage you to reflect on your life, your relationship with God, and your spiritual practices. This reflection can help you gain insight and clarity.
Ask Thoughtful Questions
I will ask questions that invite you to explore your spirituality more deeply and to consider new perspectives or possibilities.
Provide Resources
I may suggest spiritual practices, readings, or resources that can support your spiritual growth and deepen your connection with God.
Offer Prayer and Support
I will pray with and for you, offering spiritual support and companionship on your journey.
Maintain Confidentiality
I will respect the confidentiality of our conversations, ensuring that you feel safe to share openly and honestly.
Respect Your Journey
I will honor and respect your unique spiritual journey. My role is to support and accompany you, not to direct or control your path.

I was introduced to spiritual direction four years ago and it has forever changed how I experience my walk with Jesus! I have a deeper awareness of his loving presence in my everyday, and a more honest and meaningful prayer life!
I have received so much goodness from experiencing God this way, I became a Certified Spiritual Director through the Institute for Christian Spirituality at Lipscomb University.

I am so happy that you are here, that you are curious about this ancient practice made new, and that you are seeking ways to experience the love of God more deeply.
I would love to journey with you as your soul-friend as you seek this new way of experiencing more of His love for you!
Core Elements of Spiritual Direction

Listening and Discernment
A good spiritual director is a professional listener. Together, we listen for and discern the presence and guidance of God in your life. Where is God? What is He pointing you to? What do you need to let go of? These are just some of the questions we may consider in our time together.
Prayer and Reflection
I will begin our time together with prayer and scripture. We will spend time both in conversation, in the word, and in quiet contemplation occasionally- whatever you decide is the most useful to you.
Non-Directive Guidance
I do not give direct advice or "fix-it" solutions, but rather I hope to offer loving support to you as you discover the work that God is already doing in your heart and soul.
Regular Meetings
Spiritual direction typically involves regular meetings, which could be monthly or more frequent, depending on your personal needs.

Offerings
Individual Spiritual Direction ($55/hour)
This is the most traditional and common form of spiritual direction, where we meet together each month. ZOOM appointments are the easiest to schedule, but I do offer a few select in-person dates at my farm on the outskirts of Clarksville, TN if you prefer an in-person experience.
Private Guesthouse Overnight Silent Retreat ($200)
Get away from the city for the quiet country-life and enjoy uninterrupted time to focus on the Lord, practice solitude, and spend time in nature. The private overnight silent retreat includes luxury accommodations in our guesthouse suite, dinner on Friday, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. Arrive Friday afternoon around 3pm, and enjoy a one-mile hike in the surrounding woods before dinner. Then settle into the guesthouse for a quiet evening and a delicious meal catered to your needs. Awake refreshed in the queen guest suite and enjoy breakfast on the porch and an invigorating silent walk through the forest. This retreat includes a one-hour individual spiritual direction session on Saturday before the 5pm departure.
